This Landscape Assessment was conducted to evaluate the energy consumption of food sector companies in Nigeria, using Abuja as a case study. Through a survey of 15 companies in Abuja’s food sector, we explored their readiness to shift from current energy sources to alternative sources of cleaner and more integrated energy systems.
The survey also provided insights into their energy consumption patterns, the challenges they face in ensuring steady energy supply and their plans to address such challenges.
The Landscape Assessment adopted a data-driven approach to comprehensively analyze the energy usage patterns in Nigeria’s food sector, covering the production process, food retail operations, energy profiling, and transportation and logistics. The research used a mixed methods approach, incorporating questionnaires, energy audits, and interviews to capture a wide range of details required for the assessment.
