The democratization of data and easy flow of information across the value chain cuts down the cost of doing business in agriculture to great extents. It saves money and time for farmers, agribusinesses, and cooperatives who spend outrageously in managing the risk of doing business. We believe that when stakeholders and partners know each other easily and exist as entities in a single platform, agriculture can be boosted to unimaginable levels.
Verdant offers value chain integration systems that not only profile key players ranging from farmers, agri-businesses to financial institutions but also facilitate communications as well as transactions between them.
These platforms connect the agricultural value chain using unique mobile technologies in order to make smallholders more visible to the markets and agricultural data for improved food production and improved livelihoods.
They are robust and end-to-end solutions that utilise modern day cutting edge technologies to provide agricultural support for rural farmers. The systems accommodate low-end phones and are built to operate efficiently with feature as well as smart mobile devices.
They adequately collect, aggregate and disseminate information between the farmer and the stakeholders in the agricultural value chains including supporting associations, business networks, civil society organizations and donors.
The mission for these platforms is to aid the farmers throughout their farming life cycle and thereby improve their food production and livelihoods. The systems are easy to use, reliable, able to perform quality checks on data and capable of solving the farmers’ challenging problems.
OUR VALUE CHAIN
[PLATFEx + RUMBU]
An end-to-end solutions that utilise modern day cutting edge technologies to provide agricultural support for rural farmers.
Platfex connect the agricultural value chain using unique mobile technologies in order to make smallholders more visible to the markets.
We utilize Data from the activities of the farmers as well as different sources in order to deploy sector-specific applications.
The nature of business and activities of Verdant leads to the generation of enormous variety of data. We utilize Data from the activities of the farmers as well as different sources (government, research agencies, private markets, and publicly available sources) in order to deploy sector-specific applications based on comprehensive repository of soil maps, agronomic data models, weather patterns and farming operations.
These platforms also facilitate communication and interfacing with other existing databases in order to deploy powerful, data-enabled solutions. They connote of various tools ranging from data collection mechanisms, e-learning systems to research information systems and database management systems.
In order to achieve a truly integrated approach for solving the greatest agricultural challenges, Verdant combines advances in information technology, research and development as well as smart machinery and equipment. This stream involves proprietary and non-proprietary physical technologies for the Agricultural Value chain. Eg: Weather Stations, Automated Irrigation Systems, Machinery trackers, etc.
The importance of weather as a major factor in determining many indices that are cardinal to agricultural productivity cannot be overstated. Therefore, weather stations and accompanying flood detection systems are a necessity. Defying the common notion that deploying such systems is necessarily very expensive, Verdant has developed a unique model that allows for the deployment of weather stations at a very low costs.
Verdant has also designed a deployment model that minimizes the number of weather stations needed to adequately cover any expanse of arable land with a high degree of forecasting accuracy with the aim of executing a weather based index insurance system as well as a robust weather and climatic information database.
A wall digital signage display to showcase all activities in real-time. It visualizes information in various forms ranging from maps to analytics and system performance. This is to complement individual dashboards for the different stakeholders that can be accessed via web or desktop applications by designated users.
The dashboard equips Verdant and its partners with a direct access to information on all nodes on the system. This establishes the basis for a having a wholistic, birds-eye view of the entire system in a state-of-the arts manner.
Via a modular irrigation kit, Verdant hopes to avail to farmers an affordable, efficient drip irrigation infrastructure especially for dry season farming in order to maximise yield and minimise mismanagement of resources such as water.
